Selection of right Institute is a critical decision in the academic success of student. This should be done with deliberation. Please consider below parameters while finalizing institute
- Institute Orientation – Bigger brands have commoditized education. They primarily focus on few bright students as their faces will bring them more business next year.
- Institute Typical Batch Size – Should be maximum 15. A size above 20 is inefficient and ineffective.
- Academic Background of Faculty – Teachers should have strong academic credentials to motivate students.
- Don’t fall for scholarship traps!! You are not buying mobile phone!! You are investing critical academic years of your kid.
- Institute Infrastructure – Institute should a positive, vibrant and spacious, well ventilated class rooms. Many institute don’t have any ventilation but just air conditioners.
- Talk to existing students or parents – this is the best way to get an idea about any institute but please make sure to cover variety of students not just one or two.
- Don’t fall for all Subjects gimmick. There will be dilution in core subjects for sure.
- Commute time – Should be within 15 mins via walk or bicycle. Don’t let students waste time in commuting and getting tired! Moreover, closer the institute better is attendance.
